Ya see these bags on them fancy ladies in magazines, and on TV. They carryin’ ’em around like they ain’t nothin’. But I bet they paid a whole lot for it. And they probably got a whole closet full of ’em, different colors and sizes. Must be nice to have that kinda money, huh?
Now, they talk about this “serial number” thing. Apparently, the older bags ain’t got no numbers on ‘em. Somethin’ about before 1997 they didn’t put numbers on. But the newer ones, they got ‘em. Hidden somewhere inside, I guess. Like a secret code. So ya know it’s real, and not some cheap knock-off from the flea market.
And this here “handle drop” and “strap drop,” that’s just how long the handles and straps are, see? Some are short, so you can carry it in your hand. Some are long, so you can sling it over your shoulder. Makes sense, I guess. Gotta have options, right?
And they got this other bag, the “Le 5 a 7” they call it. It’s a shoulder bag, smaller than the envelope one. They say it’s “sleek and minimalist,” whatever that means. Looks kinda plain to me, but I ain’t no fashion expert. Just a plain ol’ woman tryin’ to make sense of all this fancy talk.
