Okay, so you want to know about that there YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG, huh? That fancy bag all them city folks is carrying around. I seen it in one of them magazines my granddaughter brings over. It’s a boxy thing, right? I tell ya, these young people and their expensive purses. Back in my day, we just carried a feed sack if we needed to haul something. But I guess things is different now.
This here YSL, it’s some kinda French name, I reckon. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Probably costs more than my old mule did back in the day. But you know, they make good stuff, I guess. My granddaughter, she says those YSL bags is an “investment”. Whatever that means. I reckon it means they hold onto their value. So you pay a lot now, you can maybe sell it for a lot later. Like land, but smaller. And you can carry your lipstick in it.
- That LE CARRé SATCHEL, it’s got that name cause it’s square, I guess. Like a little box. They call it “satchel”. We just called ’em bags.
- They got all different kinds, too. Some is leather, some is some other kinda fabric. They call it “canvas”. Like what you paint on, but tougher, I suppose.
- And the colors! Black, mostly, that’s what I seen. But I bet they got all sorts of colors for them that likes a little something different.
Now, my granddaughter, she’s got one of them YSL bags. Not this square one, a different one. She says it’s called a “Lou”. Named after some fancy French lady, I expect. She babies that thing more than she babies her own cat. Says it’s “versatile”. Means you can use it for anything, I think. Going to the grocery store, going to a fancy dinner. I told her my old feed sack was versatile, too, but she just rolled her eyes.
These YSL bags, they got all kinds of different ones. They got one called “Sunset”. Probably cause it looks like a sunset, I don’t know. They got one called “Kate”. Now, that’s a good, solid name. Reminds me of my old neighbor, Kate. She was a good woman. Strong, like this bag, I bet.
They say these YSL bags is made real good. Good leather, they say. “Lambskin” and “calfskin”. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Like something you’d find in one of them fancy restaurants. They say it gets better with age, like a good wine. Or a good pair of boots. I had a pair of boots once that lasted me near on 20 years. They don’t make ’em like that anymore, though.
And the lock on this LE CARRé SATCHEL, it’s some special kinda lock, I hear. Made of brass, they say. Shiny and gold-colored. And it’s got that YSL name on it. Small, though. Not like some of them other bags where the name is big as day. This one’s more, what do they call it, “subtle”. Like a whisper instead of a shout.
They say these bags is a good “investment” cause they keep their value. Like I said before, kinda like land. You buy it now, it’s worth more later. ‘Course, you gotta take care of it. Can’t just throw it around like an old shoe. Gotta keep it nice. No scratches or nothin’. My granddaughter keeps hers in a special bag, just to keep it safe. Imagine that. A bag for a bag!
- If you gonna get one of these YSL bags, gotta make sure you keep it nice. They lose their value if they get all messed up.
- They’re strong, though. They say they last a long time. That’s good. I like things that last.
- They’re made with good stuff, this leather and all. That’s why they cost so much, I reckon.
I don’t know about all these fancy bags, but I guess if it makes you happy, that’s all that matters. Just don’t go spending your whole paycheck on one, now. Gotta have money for other things, too. Like food. And a good pair of shoes. And maybe a new chicken or two for the coop.
This YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG, it’s a nice bag, I suppose. For them that likes that kinda thing. Me, I’m happy with my old purse. It’s got everything I need. And it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg, neither.
But you know, to each their own. If you want a fancy YSL bag, you go right ahead. Just remember what I said about taking care of it. And don’t forget to enjoy it, too.
