Alright, so a few days ago, I got my hands on this OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Sapphire, the one with the Cal.3861 movement. Man, I gotta tell you, it’s a real beauty. I’ve been wanting to share my whole experience with you guys, from start to finish, so here we go.
First off, I started digging around for info about this watch. I mean, I knew it was a classic, but I wanted to know more. Turns out, this Speedmaster is a legend. I stumbled upon some old article, I think it was from late 2015, talking about the history of the Speedmaster. Apparently, it’s been around for a long time and has some serious history with space and stuff.
Then I found out that they just released a new white dial version, which got me even more excited. I had to see it with my own eyes.
So, I went and got the watch. Let me tell you, holding it in my hands was something else. It just felt right, you know? It’s got those classic Speedmaster registers at 3 and 6, just like the old ones. The details are insane. Every little thing just screams quality.
Then I started messing around with it, checking out the movement. It’s the Cal.3861, which is supposed to be some kind of upgraded version of the old ones. They added some fancy stuff in there, like some Co-Axial whatever. Sounds cool, right?
- First thing I did was set the time. Easy peasy.
- Then I started playing with the chronograph. That’s the stopwatch function, for those who don’t know. It’s got a really satisfying click when you start and stop it.
- I wound it up. The winding is smooth, feels solid.
I wore it around for a couple of days, just to see how it feels. It’s super comfortable. And it gets noticed. People kept asking me about it, which is always fun. It’s like, you’re wearing a piece of history on your wrist, it really makes me feel like i am walking with a part of something bigger. You can’t help but feel a little cooler with this thing on.
So, yeah, that’s my story with the OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Sapphire. I’m absolutely loving it. It’s not just a watch, it’s an experience. If you’re into watches, you gotta check this one out. You won’t regret it. It is more than just telling time, that is for sure.
Overall, it was a great experience. It is not just a watch, it is an icon. The details of the craftsmanship make this watch stand out. I love it.
My Two Cents
If you’re thinking about getting one, just do it. It’s worth every penny. I mean, it’s not just a watch, it’s a conversation starter, a piece of history, and a damn good-looking timepiece all rolled into one. Trust me, you’ll be happy you did, and I will probably get some more to add to my collection in the future.
