Okay, so, I’ve been eyeing one of those fancy CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Professional Moonwatches for a while now. You know, the ones with the see-through back? They call it a “transparent case back,” I think. Anyway, I finally decided to pull the trigger and get one. But man, it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be.
First off, I started looking around, you know, just browsing. I knew there were a bunch of different models, but I didn’t realize how many. Turns out, there are four main ones in steel, and they all look pretty similar at first glance. They call them the Speedmaster Moonwatch Master Chronometer collection. Fancy name, right? And some of them have this hesalite glass, which I guess is like the original, but I wasn’t too keen on that. I wanted the sapphire crystal, you know, the fancy stuff. They even have one with a nylon fabric strap that looked good at the beginning, but I was not sure about it.
So, I dug a little deeper. I found out that this CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch I was after is 42 millimeters, made of stainless steel, and has this polished-brushed bracelet with five, uh, “arched links” per row. Sounds complicated, but it looks real nice. And yeah, it’s got sapphire crystal on both the front and the back, so you can see all the little gears and stuff moving around. Pretty neat, huh?
Then I started reading about the history of these things. Did you know the first Speedmaster came out way back in 1957? They called it the CK2915, and it was actually designed for car racing, not space stuff. Crazy, right? But then, it somehow ended up on the moon, and the rest is history, as they say. It hasn’t been available for the better part of a decade.
- I went down to one of those Specialty Stores.
- Talked to the guy there.
- He showed me all the different models.
- I tried a few on.
But it all started to make sense, and I knew which one was my type. After trying on a few different ones, I finally settled on the classic Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch with the sapphire crystal. It just felt right, you know? It’s got that classic look, and the see-through back is just too cool to pass up. Also, it’s got three little circles, they are called sub dials, I don’t know what they do, but they look cool.
So, yeah, that’s my story. I finally got my hands on a CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, and I couldn’t be happier. It was a bit of a journey, but totally worth it in the end. I felt like I got a pretty good deal on it, too. Now I can see what all the fuss is about with these fancy watches.
