Okay, so, I gotta tell you about this watch I just picked up. It’s the Omega Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary edition. Yeah, I know, it’s a mouthful, but trust me, this thing is pretty cool.

I went to the Omega boutique a while back, and I finally got to pick up the watch. I ended up paying the retail price for it, just like any regular person would.

This Silver Snoopy watch, it actually came out a couple of years ago, back in October 2020, if I remember right. But, you know how it is with these popular watches, getting your hands on one can take some time. Delivery for these things can take a while. I remember seeing something online about it being a “Hands-On Review” on some website that same month, I think. I also saw a post saying “Non-LE – The Best So…” which I think meant that it’s not a limited edition. I was a bit confused but it turned out that it’s not a limited edition.

I did some more digging online. I read through some “authentic reviews from real owners” about the prices and references. Most of them raved about how cool the watch was. One of them said, “Since its release in 2020, the ‘Silver Snoopy Award’ is still one of the most sought-after iterations of the Speedmaster. Presented on a silver dial paired with blue accents on the sub-dials.” I couldn’t agree more! It’s like the ultimate collector’s item for any space or watch enthusiast.

Unboxing This Beauty

  • The Box: First off, the box it comes in is pretty neat. It’s got this whole space vibe going on, which makes sense, right?
  • The Watch: Then you get to the watch itself. It’s got a silver dial with these blue accents on the smaller dials. Looks sharp, very clean.
  • The Strap: It comes on a blue nylon strap. Feels comfortable, looks good, and again, space-themed.
  • The Caseback: Now, this is where it gets really interesting. The back of the watch has this cool animation. You can see Snoopy in his little spaceship, and he actually moves around the moon when you use the chronograph. It’s such a fun detail!

This is not actually a limited edition, which is kind of surprising given how popular it is. But I guess that means more people have a chance to get one, which is cool.

This new Snoopy Speedmaster is way different from the older ones. I read online that the older versions used the Snoopy design in a smaller way. But this 50th Anniversary one? They went all out. I also read that the older Snoopy Speedmasters were limited editions. Like, the first one had 5441 pieces, which was the length of the Apollo 13 mission. Pretty neat, huh?

Someone posted online that this was the “cutest Speedy of the year,” and honestly, I can see why. Especially with that animation on the back. So cool.

Anyways, I’m super happy with it. It’s a great addition to my collection, and it’s just a fun watch to wear. If you’re into watches, or space, or Snoopy, you should definitely check this one out.
