Man, let me tell you about this watch I’ve been messing around with. It’s called the OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, the one with the see-through back. I’ve always been a bit of a watch nerd, and this one? This one’s a classic.
First, I started digging around online, just to see what people were saying about it. You know how it is, gotta get the real scoop before you jump in. Turns out, there’s a whole bunch of Speedmaster die-hards out there who swear by the classic Moonwatch. They talk about something called “Hesalite crystal,” which is apparently just a fancy word for plexiglass. Who knew? But, the one that I got, has the sapphire crystal glass and the transparent back.
Then, I went to the stores to find out more about this watch. I found out that this particular model, the Ref. 310.30.42.50.01.002, is kind of a big deal. It’s got all the cool history of the original Moonwatch but with some updated tech inside. That’s where the “Co-Axial Master Chronometer” thing comes in. Fancy, right?
I started looking around at different versions, too. There’s one that’s supposed to be inspired by astronaut spacesuits. It’s got black details and the Speedmaster name in red. Pretty slick. And let me tell you, these watches aren’t cheap. I saw some made of ceramic, gold, even platinum! One gold one I saw, the ref. 304.63.44.52.01.001, was going for over 16 grand! But I decided to go with the classic steel one, though I know it can go for 6 grand and up. But, you know what, this one is still my type.
So, I started looking for deals on these Speedmaster Moonwatch. You see ads everywhere, some sites guaranteeing they’re legit. But, there are so many different kinds of this watch, that I was a bit confused. So, I started searching for stores that sell authentic watches. Finally, I found a good deal and bought it!
Finally, after getting my hands on it, I started to mess around with it, like set the time and play with the chronograph. I even wound it up a few times. Then I decided to wear it out, you know, just to see how it felt. Got a few compliments, too, which was cool. And, I started taking some pictures of it. Thought it would be cool to share them online, see what other watch nerds think. I tried to capture how the light hits the dial, the way the hands move, all that stuff.
Anyway, it’s been a fun little project. Learning about the watch, finding one, and then just enjoying it. It’s definitely a cool piece of history to have on your wrist.
- The Movement: This thing is powered by a manual-wind movement, which means you gotta wind it up yourself. Old school, but I dig it.
- The Case: Stainless steel case, 42mm. Feels solid, not too big, not too small.
- The Strap: I got mine on a steel bracelet. It’s comfy, and it looks good.
- The Dial: Black dial, with those classic white hands. Easy to read, even in the dark.
So that’s the story of my OMEGA Speedmaster adventure. Hope you enjoyed it!
