So, I’ve been eyeballin’ this PRADA Medium Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag for a while now. You know, that one with the triangle logo thingy. It’s a real looker, but man, it’s pricey!

Decide to do it myself

I figured, “Hey, I’m pretty handy. Why not try to remake it myself?”

Get the leather

First, I went and got me some of that Saffiano leather. It’s got that cool crosshatch pattern, kinda like the real deal. Found a decent-sized piece online from a place that sells scraps, so I saved some dough there.

Cut the leather

Then, I printed out a template I found. It wasn’t exact, but it gave me a good starting point. I carefully traced it onto the leather and cut out all the pieces. That took a while, gotta be honest. My hands were cramping up by the end!

Sew everything together

  • Next up was sewing. I don’t have one of those fancy sewing machines, so I did it all by hand. Took forever, and my fingers were sore, but I got it done.
  • I even added a red lining, just like the real PRADA one. I saw someone online mention it, and I thought, yeah, I love that sharp contrast.
  • I used some strong thread, so hopefully, it holds up.

Add the hardware

The tricky part was the hardware. I found some metal bits and bobs that looked similar to the PRADA bag’s. I used a combination of glue and some hand-stitching to attach them. It’s not perfect, but it does the job.

The finished product

Finally, after days of work, it was done! My very own “Remake PRADA Medium Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag.” It’s not a perfect replica, but I’m pretty darn proud of it. It looks good, feels sturdy, and it definitely didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. I think it turned out to be a really nice bag, even if I do say so myself. Some of that old leather, it gets better with age, like a good pair of boots.

Would I do it again? Maybe. It was a lot of work, but also kinda fun. Plus, now I have a bag that’s unique and that I made with my own two hands. That’s pretty cool, right? And hey, if I can do it, anyone can!
